Meet Our Grant Writing Intern

For 2016, we decided to offer a grant writing internship to a qualified individual wishing to gain experience searching and applying for grants. The program is designed to help foster an understanding of where to look for grants in out-of-the-box locations, and how to tailor interests and ideas to grant requests.

Congratulations to Anna Petracca, our early career scientist and intern! Anna has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and recently earned her Master’s degree in Marine
Conservation from the University of Miami, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science in Miami, Fl. Prior to earning her master’s degree she experienced a major career change after being inspired by participating in a pilot whale stranding rescue and rehabilitation. This experience created a strong passion for marine conservation, especially conservation of marine mammals. Since that time, she has assisted in other strandings and humpback whale research in Cape Cod, Massachusetts and has worked on creating citizen science projects to aid in marine conservation outreach to her local community.
